Shawn Mendes made a triumphant return to London tonight, performing to a sold-out crowd at the O2 Arena as part of his On the Road Again Tour. The Canadian singer thrilled fans with a special surprise, bringing out longtime friend Niall Horan for an unforgettable duet.

The evening opened with sets from Lubiana and Maro, who set the tone for what would become a standout night. Midway through the show, Shawn introduced Niall to the stage, and together they performed Horan’s debut solo hit “This Town.” The moment carried extra meaning, as Shawn has previously called the track his “favorite song” by the former One Direction star.

For Shawn, the concert marked another highlight in what has already been a defining tour. On the Road Again is his first global trek in three years, following the cancellation of his 2022 tour and a period of rest to focus on mental health. The tour also supports his latest album, Shawn, which he has described as his most personal work to date.

At the O2, the 27-year-old artist delivered a setlist that balanced fan favorites like “Stitches” and “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” with new material, including “Isn’t That Enough” and “Heart of Gold.”The On the Road Again Tour launched on August 5 in Krakow, Poland, and runs through October 17, closing in Los Angeles. Along the way, Shawn is joined by a rotating lineup of opening acts including Eddie Benjamin, Lubiana, and Maro. His London stop, however, already stands out as a highlight thanks to Niall’s guest appearance.

Next, Shawn heads to Amsterdam for an August 20 show, which kicks off the final stretch of the tour’s first leg, wrapping on August 31. After a short break, he’ll return to the U.S. for the North American leg, beginning September 25.
