You have just days to watch Suffragette, starring Anne-Marie Duff, before it leaves Channel 4’s streaming service.

The 2015 historical drama was only added to the streamer last month, but is being removed on Wednesday 20 August – so get in there quick before it’s too late.

Suffragette boasts an impressive cast, with Carey Mulligan, Meryl Streep, Helena Bonham Carter, Ben Whishaw and Brendan Gleeson all starring alongside Duff.

As the title suggests, the movie tells the story of women’s suffrage in the UK, with the synopsis reading: “In early 20th-century Britain, the growing suffragette movement forever changes the life of working wife and mother Maud Watts (Mulligan).

“Galvanized by political activist Emmeline Pankhurst (Streep), Watts joins a diverse group of women who fight for equality and the right to vote.

“Faced with increasing police action, Maud and her dedicated suffragettes must play a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse, risking their jobs, homes, family and lives for a just cause.”

Over on Rotten Tomatoes, Suffragette has a score of 73% from over 200 reviews, with The Times describing it as “a rousing, demonstrative tale”.

The New York Times said: “Stirring and cleareyed – the best kind of history lesson.” While Rolling Stone wrote: “Suffragette – flaws and all – is a movie that matters.”

The Guardian added: “Director Sarah Gavron does well to galvanize her story with a degree of urgency: the result of swift, assured camerawork and a brilliantly understated performance by Carey Mulligan.”

Meanwhile, another Anne-Marie Duff movie, Before I Go To Sleep, was recently added to Prime Video.

The 2014 psychological thriller, based on SJ Watson’s novel of the same name, also stars Nicole Kidman, Colin Firth and Mark Strong.

The synopsis reads: “After a traumatic accident, Christine (Kidman) wakes up every morning with her mind a blank slate until a new therapist unlocks terrifying glimpses into her past.”

Suffragette is available to stream on Channel 4 until 20 August.
