Murder investigation launched after woman killed outside a care home in Romford (Pictures: UKNIP)
Police have launched a murder investigation after a young woman was found dead in east London.
The woman, in her 20s, was found suffering critical injuries after reports of an ‘assault’ in Chadwell Heath at 5.30am.
Paramedics fought to save the woman outside the entrance to Sanctuary Care centre but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Although the woman has not been formally identified officers said the victim was in her twenties.

Police say a post-mortem examination is being held to determine the nature of her injuries.
Forensics recovered a colourful handbag with a phone charger, clothing and toothpaste inside from the scene of the killing.
Police said the family have been informed of her death and are being supported by family liaison officers.

The murder scene is close to a village green popular with dog walkers.
Det Supt Brian Hobbs said: ‘Our thoughts today are with the victim’s family and friends in light of this truly tragic event.
‘Local residents will see an increased number of officers in and around the area while our investigative work is carried out.
‘I want to thank residents for their patience while this continues. I would ask anyone who was in the area of Romford, who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, to come forward to us.’

The murder came as a man in his 40s was found dead with head injuries in Walthamstow, east London.

A Met spokesman said: ‘At this time his death is being treated as unexpected and officers continue to follow all lines of enquiries to understand the circumstances of his injuries.’
There have been no arrests so far in both investigations.
