Birmingham City investor and shareholder Tom Brady revealed he was still thinking of Blues‘ dramatic late victory at Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, hours after the full-time whistle.
Blues were trailing 1-0 at Ewood Park before Jay Stansfield levelled the scores with a penalty late in the day, and then deep into stoppage time substitute Lyndon Dykes struck, turning in Demarai Gray’s cross in front of 7,000 visiting fans to hand Blues an unlikely victory.
It means that Blues have four points from their opening two games of the Championship campaign, having also sealed progress to the second round of the Carabao Cup in the week, and they will now welcome Oxford United and former boss Gary Rowett to St Andrew’s next weekend.
NFL legend Brady, who joined up with Blues when Knighthead completed their takeover of the club in 2023, and has attended a number of games and continues to have an influence on the day to day happenings at the club, posted on social media to acknowledge the late turnaround and revel in the success.
“On the road, extra time, still fighting-2 goals in 8 minutes to take all 3 points. LET’S GO BLUES,” Brady wrote on Instagram. Hours later, he added: “Still thinking about that finish.”
