A passenger flight from Turkey was forced to divert to Germany en-route to the capital on Saturday morning, April 19.

Turkish Airlines flight TK1343 left Istanbul just after 8am on Saturday morning, April 19, but was diverted to Munich Airport, reports Edinburgh Live.

However, according to flight tracking site FlightRadar24, the aircraft did not issue a Squawk 7700 code which indicates a general emergency onboard and is often used when a flight has to divert.

Data shows the flight touched down in Germany and is scheduled to leave again on Saturday morning before returning to its intended destination at around 12.20pm.

Earlier this month Edinburgh Ryanair passengers were reportedly ‘left on the tarmac’ following a medical emergency.

Passengers onboard the flight from Edinburgh to Alicante were diverted to Stansted Airport after an alleged incident onboard. The flight took off shortly after 7.30am and landed at Stansted just before 9am.

Turkish Airlines were approached for comment.
