US Open mixed doubles draw revealed; Monfils & Osaka enter field

Gael Monfils and Naomi Osaka will compete together in the US Open mixed doubles event.

The US Open revealed its mixed doubles draw on Sunday evening, and there will be fireworks from the first round Tuesday.
Top seeds Jack Draper and Jessica Pegula will face a stern opening test against two former US Open singles champions in Carlos Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu. The winner will play the team that emerges between Olga Danilovic/Novak Djokovic and Mirra Andreeva/Daniil Medvedev (View the full mixed doubles draw here).
Second seeds Taylor Fritz and Elena Rybakina will try to oust defending champions Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori. Third seeds Casper Ruud and Iga Swiatek take on Madison Keys and Frances Tiafoe, while fourth seeds Amanda Anisimova/Holger Rune will open against Ben Shelton and Taylor Townsend.
The No. 1 player in the PIF ATP Rankings, Jannik Sinner, was set to compete with Emma Navarro. Following the American’s withdrawal, Sinner has repaired with Katerina Siniakova and they have received a wild card.
Other teams that were given a wild card were Gael Monfils/Naomi Osaka and Caty McNally/Lorenzo Musetti (following Jasmine Paolini’s withdrawal).
The first two rounds will take place Tuesday, and the semi-finals and final will be played Wednesday. The full list of teams competing is below.
