Police have closed Barrhead Road following the incident
A woman has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a bus on a busy Glasgow street.
Emergency services were called to Barrhead Road shortly after 3.50pm on Monday following reports of the collision. The woman’s condition has not yet been confirmed.
Police closed the road between Boydstone Road and Kennishead Road, with drivers urged to take alternative routes.
Images from the scene show traffic building on the street, with police directing motorists away from the incident.
An eyewitness told Glasgow Live: “There were huge queues and we were stuck in standstill traffic for over 30 minutes before police officers came and diverted drivers away from the scene.
“The whole road was blocked off, it looks like something serious has happened.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.50pm on Monday, 18 August, 2025, we received a report of a crash involving a female pedestrian and a bus on Barrhead Road, Glasgow.
“Drivers are asked to use alternative routes.”
