Dodo is slashing its NBN prices with savings of up to $180 over 6 months. Are they worth it?
For a limited time, Dodo is discounting unlimited data NBN plans by up to $30 a month for the first 6 months.
Prices now start at $46.99 for 25 Mbps. That’s well below the $72 average you’d normally pay for this plan type.
With the exception of NBN 15, all monthly NBN plans have been discounted by at least $25.
Here’s how much you can save across each plan.
All plans come with no lock-in contracts. You can also save an additional $10 a month when you bundle with Dodo Energy.
The offers are available until 30 September 2025.
How do these deals stack up?
The new monthly discounts are a few dollars cheaper than Dodo’s previous NBN sale, which ended in January.
However, there’s one big caveat – you only get the discounted price for 6 months. Dodo’s previous offer lasted for a whole year.
So you’re actually saving less money in the long run.
With that said, these are still very good prices for the speeds being offered. You can also cancel before the full price kicks in.
Which Dodo plan should I sign up for?
The most popular NBN plan type in Australia is NBN 50, which is fast enough for online gaming, remote work and streaming on 1-3 devices.
Dodo’s NBN 100 plan is definitely better value, though – it can potentially double your internet speeds for just $2 extra per month.
After the promotional period, the monthly cost of these plans jumps to $85.99 and $92.99, respectively. So choose according to your budget if you intend to stick around.
NBN 250 is aimed at serious power users, but you will need an FTTP or HFC NBN connection to get those speeds.
Overall, the NBN 100 deal provides the best bang-for-buck, especially during the first 6 months. For most users, this is the plan to get.
Are Dodo speeds reliable?
Dodo has a great track record when it comes to speed delivery. It consistently appears near the top of the ACCC’s broadband performance report.
On average, its download speeds exceeded the advertised maximum by 0.5% during the busiest hour of the day.
This means you can expect to receive reliable or even slightly faster speeds across all plan types.
