Good Morning Britain star Adil Ray was left stunned as his co-star told him ‘nobody knows you’ before another branded him a ‘background artist’ in a brutal swipe

Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Arnold delivered a scathing dig at his co-host Adil Ray on Tuesday.

The Citizen Khan star had been presenting the ITV morning show alongside Kate Garraway when Richard delivered his entertainment segment.

During the broadcast, he highlighted actor Nick Frost taking on the role of Hagrid in the new Harry Potter TV series.

With production for the HBO show currently in progress, and six episodes scheduled to broadcast in 2027, further information about the contentious series based on JK Rowling’s books continues to surface.

The Hot Fuzz star is assuming the character previously portrayed by the late Robbie Coltrane, and has been photographed shooting scenes in London with fresh Harry Potter performer Dominic McLaughlin, reports the Mirror.

When images of the pair in costume appeared, Richard revealed on Good Morning Britain that a stand-in was being employed to represent Hagrid’s towering stature.

“There was some magic in the air in the capital as filming for the new Harry Potter HBO series has been underway,” Richard began.

“Nick Frost was seen as Hagrid alongside the new Harry played by Dominic McLaughlin on a transformed Borough high street, not far from my manor.

“But in order for Frost Hagrid to reach the heights of the half giant they have had to hire a body double.

“The tall order has been achieved by using a police officer turned stunt actor, who is a whopping 7ft2, and was once Britain’s tallest in the force.”

Richard went on to disclose that Robbie, who stood at approximately 6ft, relied on platform shoes to gain extra height, whilst clever camera work handled the remainder.

“Nick Frost is around 5ft7 meaning he has a long way to go to reach Hagrid’s half-giant height hence the use of the stunt double,” he said.

As Kate questioned how it would work, and if Nick’s head would be put on the stunt double’s body in editing, Richard bluntly replied: “I don’t think it’s rocket science!”

“They can come for him on the close-ups,” Adil went on to explain. “He’ll love it, because it means he doesn’t have to do the boring walking shots, he can stay in the trailer, the stunt double does the walking shots.”

“You’re an actor,” Kate replied, before Richard quipped: “You know an awful lot for someone who is mostly a background artist!”

“Woah!” Adil shouted back, jokingly urging Richard to “move on”.

This comes after Adil’s return to Good Morning Britain divided fans, as one person wrote on Monday (August 18): “I’ll pass on that thanks,” with another adding: “Nobody will get a word in with these two presenters. Switches over.”

A third said: “No thanks,” while another similarly shared: “Worst pairing ever. You can do better than this.”

Meanwhile, other viewers have shared their delight at Adil’s appearance, with one person writing: “Yes! Love Adil! But to be honest all the @GMB presenters are really good.”

Another added: “I like this pairing on GMB. At heart, both exceptional interviewers,” while a third said: “What a great pair today.”
