The Innovation. Media. Minds. Programme, funded by the European Union (EU), is excited to announce the Production grants for independent media second call aiming to support independent media/media organisations in the Western Balkans region to increase pluralism of expression, strengthen their cooperation with public service media and improve audience relevant reporting.

The primary aim of these grants is to support independent media outlets/media organisations in the Western Balkans region promoting pluralism of expression, strengthening their cooperation with the Western Balkan Public Service Media (PSM)[1] and improving audience-relevant reporting. Prioritized in close cooperation with Western Balkan PSMs, topics of regional public interest include (but are not limited to) cultural exchange and dialogue, education, rule of law, good governance, human, economic and social rights (including vulnerable groups), gender, investigating environmental issues, Western Balkans’ progress on the EU integration path, etc.

Independent media outlets or media organisations with legal bodies established in one of the following IPA beneficiaries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*[2], Montenegro, North Macedonia, or Serbia can apply for grants of up to EUR 30,000. Applicants can apply with project proposals lasting a maximum of eight (8) months.

To assist applicants, we will organise online informative sessions and consultations:

  • First online informative session: 27 August 2025, starting at 11:00 CET (please register until 26 August 2025, 23:59h CET).

  • Individual online consultations: 1 – 5 September 2025, from 10:00 – 16:00h CET (please register 24h before the chosen date and time).

  • Second online informative session: 10 September 2025; starting at 11:00 CET (please register until 09 September 2025, 23:59h CET).
