Salford Red Devils’ Super League fixture against Leigh Leopards is set to go ahead on Friday as scheduled, the club have said.
Sunday’s fixture against Wakefield Trinity was called off because of “significant” welfare concerns as only two senior players were available.
Most of the team’s senior professionals have left in 2025 because of the Red Devils’ financial issues, leading them to rely on loanees from other Super League clubs.
In a statement on Monday evening, the club said that due to players returning from injury, in addition to “others with Super League experience set to join on loan”, Friday’s fixture against the Leopards will proceed as planned.
“Your support this season has been incredible, both at home and on the road – thank you for backing the boys in such a tough period,” the club added.
