There are so many routers on the market, and most of them do a pretty good job of connecting your home to the internet. To make its routers stand out, Asus is running a promo where it pays for your internet while throwing in a Steam gift card for good measure.
Between now and 31 August 2025, buying an eligible Asus router comes with a month of NBN 500 internet via Occom valued at $105. On top of that, you also get a US$20 Steam gift card when buying one router, or a US$75 card when buying two routers.
I’m not sure why the card is in US currency — giveaways run by multinational companies work in mysterious ways — but at least us Aussies can benefit from a favourable currency conversion for a change. Usually, it’s graphics cards that come with a free game, so it’s a novel twist seeing networking companies get in on the trend.
Here are the routers eligible for Asus’ promotion:
Both AX57 routers are Wi-Fi 6 models that cost less than $200 each, while the AXE7800 is a Wi-Fi 6E router that can be found for less than $400 at Centre Com.
To redeem the bonus goodies, you need to take a photo of the device’s serial number and your receipt, and then upload them to Asus’ redemption site online. The website has more details, including the all-important terms and conditions, plus a list of participating retailers.
In addition to the guaranteed bonuses, you’ll go in the running to win six months of internet and a Vivowatch 5 Aero smart wearable. There are three of these prize packs, in case you needed an extra incentive to grab a new router.
