Taylor Swift’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl, sent her fans into a frenzy but not everyone in Hollywood is applauding. While fans are excited for Swift’s 12th studio album release on October 3, Britney Spears and Pamela Anderson are reportedly unhappy with her new era. The reason? Both feel that Swift’s bold visuals and costumes borrow heavily from their own iconic looks without giving them the credit they deserve.
According to a Radar Online insider, Britney Spears believes Taylor Swift’s look on the album cover mirrors her iconic 2001 Dream Within a Dream tour costume. On the album cover, Swift sports a rhinestone bra, fringed armbands and a jewel-encrusted nude thong, which is strikingly similar to Britney’s Bob Mackie-designed outfit from the early 2000s.
Britney Spears Feels Taylor Swift Crossed Line
“She even feels she should have a credit in the liner notes,” the source claimed, adding that Britney feels “ripped off.”. “Britney worked with Bob Mackie on that outfit; it’s pop history. To see it repackaged without so much as a nod feels wrong.”

Pamela Anderson Sees Parallels
Pamela Anderson, fresh off her Hollywood return in Naked Gun, has also raised eyebrows at Swift’s aesthetic choices. Sources close to Anderson say the Cruel Summer hitmaker’s visuals for The Life of a Showgirl have an uncanny resemblance to her 2024 film The Last Showgirl.
From the vibrant orange and pink palette to the retro Vegas vibe, Anderson reportedly sees too many parallels between the album’s visuals and her own outfits. A source explained, “Pamela put her heart into The Last Showgirl. The colours, the vintage Vegas feel—it’s all over Taylor’s new visuals.”
They added, “Pam isn’t upset by the inspiration, but she believes recognition is deserved. Credits in the liner notes for her and Britney would be the classy thing to do.”
Taylor Swift’s Bold New Era
Taylor Swift announced The Life of a Showgirl on her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, calling it “exuberant, electric, and vibrant.” The album will see her reunite with producers Max Martin and Shellback and will also feature Sabrina Carpenter in the final song.
One of the most talked-about album images shows Swift in a bathtub. While some called it a sultry shot, the singer explained it actually represents her post-show routine.
According to Page Six, Travis Kelce inspired the new era, giving Taylor Swift the confidence to explore a bolder, sexier image. Meanwhile, The Life Of A Showgirl is set to drop on October 3.
