Large green fences have appeared around the Pier Head on George Parade Road and Canada Boulevard. The barricades are in place as preparations get underway to host the Liverpool Celebrates music festival this weekend.
At the time of writing, access to the Pier Head is still available for pedestrians from the Water Street, Mann Island and Royal Albert dock entrances. The entrances are expected to close closer to the festival, which takes place from Saturday, August 23 to Monday, August 25.
The stage is under construction and access toward the George Parade area is blocked due to building works. Thousands are expected to attend the festival as it celebrates its second year.
Building on the success of last year’s inaugural event, Liverpool Celebrates returns with three days of live music set against the backdrop of The Three Graces, the River Mersey and Mathew Street. Throughout the weekend, the festival will offer family entertainment for all ages to enjoy.
