A Bristol restaurant group has opened a new venue at the original location of its first family-run restaurant in Easton. The Msala Group has launched the Indian restaurant Msala Postcode on the corner of Easton High Street, where the Msala Library restaurant was set up in 2017.

Founded by Jaspreet Marwah and her family, Msala Library didn’t disappear when its Easton restaurant closed up shop. It has been running as a delivery and collection service since January 2025, when it relocated to the family business’ Fishponds Road site, which is named Msala Ministry.

But now there will be a Msala venue at its original Easton home at number 15 High Street, open seven days a week from 5pm-10.30pm.

According to reviews from previous Msala customers dining out at one of the family-run sites, the food here is worthy of an average Google rating of around 4.4 stars.

And when BristolLive visited Msala Ministry in Fishponds, our reporter was treated to ‘a pleasant waft of spices’ from the moment they stepped through the door, with a range of cocktails and mocktails on the menu, and a booklet-sized menu featuring an array of unusual and classic Indian cuisine.

And in July this year BristolLive reported that Msala Library had been listed among the Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year nominations, described as serving up authentic flavours and Indian cuisine, with a menu “crafted to deliver an authentic culinary experience for all”.
