Police have launched an appeal following a hit and run which left a boy with serious injuries. The incident occurred on Station Road, in Llanrwst, Conwy, on Monday, August 18, after the 13-year-old “lost his balance and stepped off the pavement”.

Police say a black vehicle, slowed down, but failed to stop at the scene. The boy sustained a badly broken leg, although his injuries are not “life-threatening.”

A statement from North Wales Police Conwy and Denbigh Rural read: “We are appealing for information following a road traffic collision that occurred on Station Road, Llanrwst, on Monday, 18 August.

“Shortly after midday, a 13-year-old boy was struck by a black vehicle after he lost his balance and stepped off the pavement.

“The impact caused the boy to fall to the ground, and although the driver slowed down, they failed to stop at the scene.

PC Martin Taylor added: “Thankfully, the boy’s injuries are not life-threatening-but the driver’s failure to stop and check on his welfare has understandably left his family deeply upset.

“Initial CCTV enquiries have been undertaken but we’re still seeking any witnesses, dash cam footage, or information that could help identify the vehicle or driver involved.

“We recognise that incidents of this nature can cause concern within the community, and we’re committed to doing everything possible to bring clarity and accountability.
