Wrexham take on Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship this weekend, with the Owls heading to the STōK Cae Ras.
Wrexham’s search for a first Championship win of the season continues this weekend as Phil Parkinson tackles Sheffield Wednesday.
The Championship was always going to be a different beast to anything Wrexham had experienced on this rise under Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.
Some harsh lessons are now being learned after Wrexham lost against Southampton and West Bromwich Albion to open the season.
Parkinson won’t be panicking just yet, and will have circled this weekend’s game against Sheffield Wednesday as a great chance to pick up points.
The Owls have been through a nightmare over the summer amid financial issues, player departures and protests against ownership.

Wednesday are preparing for this weekend’s trip to the STōK Cae Ras and have been dealt a significant blow.
Goalkeeper Pierce Charles has picked up an injury, which means he could miss the clash with Wrexham.
Charles has earned rave reviews and attracted top-level interest off the back of some brilliant displays for Wednesday.
The 20-year-old’s absence is a huge blow, especially as fellow stopper Killian Barrett is also carrying an injury.
Teenagers Jack Phillips and Logan Stretch have no first-team experience, with the Sheffield Star now claiming that Wednesday are attempting to make an emergency signing.
It’s stated that Wednesday are in the process of learning whether they are able to bring in another goalkeeper on a short-term deal.
The Owls are currently under transfer restrictions, but a goalkeeping injury crisis may allow Wednesday to add a new face.
An emergency signing would only be for seven days, with Wednesday then able to extend by seven days at a time if required.
Wednesday will hope for positive news on Charles, but will seemingly head into Saturday’s game at Wrexham with an untested youngster or an emergency signing between the sticks.
Josh Windass to miss Wednesday reunion
Wrexham attackers may be licking their lips at that prospect, but Josh Windass will not be one of them.
Windass joined Wrexham earlier this summer as he walked away from Wednesday over unpaid wages.
The 31-year-old would have relished the chance to play against Wednesday, but he will not be involved.
Windass picked up an injury against West Bromwich Albion and now faces weeks on the sidelines.
Now forced to watch from the stands, Windass will be cheering Wrexham on while still hoping his old club find a way out of their current predicament.
