Ferry service between New London and Block Island canceled due to rough seas – NBC Connecticut

Ferry service between New London and Block Island has been suspended because of rough sea conditions.

The Block Island Express said all ferries between Connecticut and Block Island scheduled for Thursday and Friday have been canceled.

The 4:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. ferries from Block Island were also canceled on Wednesday.

All high speed ferries departing from Rhode Island – including Newport and Point Judith – have also canceled service on Thursday.

Traditional ferry service from Point Judith hasn’t been canceled yet, but delays and disruptions are possible.

“Saturday and Sunday are looking stellar — and we plan on being back up and running to have you out in time for that next swell and sunset,” Block Island Express said on Facebook.
