Wrexham and Sheffield Wednesday are both still searching for their first Championship wins of the season.
After a slow start, comprised of two defeats from two league matches, Phil Parkinson has seen his future questioned.
The Wrexham Insider revealed last week that Wrexham are in no rush to move on Parkinson, though the club as a whole are ‘frustrated’ with how the campaign has started.
The Red Dragons have had a difficult start to 2025/26, facing two teams that, on paper, should be in and around the top six come May.
But their upcoming opponents are arguably a lot weaker, and this should be Wrexham’s best chance so far of picking up some points for the first time this term.

Sheffield Wednesday have a threadbare squad and, like Wrexham, have lost both of their opening league matches this season.
The winless run is expected to end for one team this weekend, however, with two EFL pundits making the same prediction.
Benjamin Bloom, speaking on his YouTube channel, has backed Wrexham to come away with a 2-1 win.
He said: “I reckon this might be a painful one for them [Sheffield Wednesday]. I reckon they might lose by one goal and they might lose late. Wrexham will bring someone off the bench and they’ll bundle home the winner or something like that. Wrexham 2 Sheffield Wednesday 1.”
Sam Parkin, speaking alongside Bloom, also backed a home win via a 1-0 scoreline.
He said: “It’s a struggle this week, I find it very difficult to call. I mean Sheffield Wednesday are going to get some points, they’re going to upset the narrative sooner rather than later. It’s not going to be this week, I’m afraid but they will.
“I just think it will be too difficult, although it’s three-sided at the moment, isn’t it, the Racecourse.
“So maybe not the atmosphere that it was last season but I still think they’ll be too good for Sheffield Wednesday, I’ll go for a solitary victory 1-0.”
Wrexham and Sheffield Wednesday injury problems
Josh Windass will miss Wrexham vs Sheffield Wednesday, facing at least a month on the sidelines.
Alongside Windass, Jay Rodriguez and Andy Cannon are long-term absentees and will be out on Saturday.
Parkinson said: “Obviously Jay [Rodriguez] and Andy [Cannon] are longer term.
“We’ve had a bit of disruption but it’s the same at other clubs.
“It’s just making sure we don’t get too down about that and deal with it because we’ve got good players ready to step in.
But the Owls have injury issues of their own going into the clash and are attempting to make an emergency signing to replace Pierce Charles between the sticks.
