Gangs Of London, one of Sky’s flagship series, has been renewed for season 4. More details on the series below.

Sky’s original series Gangs Of London has been a critical darling and very popular amongst audiences since its premiere in 2020. Season 3 of the crime series aired in March 2025, but Sky has taken its time in announcing whether the series will continue or not.

Thankfully, Sky has now renewed Gangs Of London for season 4, as reported here by Deadline. The news comes from Edinburgh TV Festival, but Sky hasn’t revealed when we might see those new episodes.

The series follows the power struggles of multiple London gangs after the assassination of the head of the most powerful crime family in the city. The series broke records as Sky Atlantic’s most watched original drama during its launch. Gangs Of London’s head-spinning action sequences have been praised while the excessive, stomach-churning violence has been criticised.

Without going into any spoilers, season 3 ended on an ambiguous note as two shots rang out. Who was shot? Who did the shooting? We’ll presumably find out when season 4 finally airs, but that might be some time away still. The gap between season 2 and 3 was three years so we’ll likely have to wait for at least a couple more years to find out what went down in those final moments of season 3.

The large ensemble cast of Gangs Of London includes Sope Dirisu, Michelle Fairley, Lucian Msamati and Brian Vernel to name a few and Joe Cole, Paapa Essiedu and Colm Meaney have also appeared in the show.

The series was created by Gareth Evans and Matt Flannery and is based on a video game of the same name. Corin Hardy, who directed multiple episodes in seasons 1 and 2, and Rowan Athale, a regular series writer, also created a comic-book with illustrator Ferenc Nothof. The comic, titled A Gangs of London Story: Ghosts and released in December 2022, dug deeper into the character of Elliott, played by Dirisu.
