Firefighters tackle grass fire on Bristol’s Stoke Park Estate

Firefighters have extinguished a large grass fire which has torn through a public green space.

Avon Fire and Rescue Service responded to reports of a blaze near the Dower House on Stoke Park Estate in Bristol at about 15:30 BST on Thursday.

Crews from Temple, Kingswood and Southmead attended the scene to extinguish the flames and dampen the dry grass to prevent it from spreading.

Crews left the scene at approximately 18:45 BST. A spokesperson said the cause of the fire is thought to be accidental.
