It’s always a treat to hear about what the royals are up to. Whether it’s Prince William showing up at a football match with one of his kids, Kate Middleton curating an art exhibit or Duchess Sophie turning heads in another elegant outfit—it’s the kind of content royal-watchers live for. But a rare treat? Having multiple royals all in one place. Well, that’s about to change, as King Charles is reportedly welcoming some familiar faces to his summer retreat at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
Earlier this week, King Charles, 76, officially began his summer stay at Balmoral. Queen Camilla, 78, is with him, as expected, and, according to GB News, Prince Andrew, 65, and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, also 65, have surprisingly arrived too. The Duke of York and Fergie are said to be staying at Craigowan Lodge, a cozy seven-bedroom property just half a mile from the King’s main residence.
But that’s not all, more family is expected. The outlet also reports that Prince Andrew and Sarah’s daughters, Princess Beatrice, 37, and Princess Eugenie, 35, will be joining with their families. Beatrice is married to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 41, and they share two daughters, Sienna, 3, and Athena, 6 months. Edoardo also has a son, Christopher Woolf, 9, from a previous relationship. Eugenie is married to Jack Brooksbank, 39, and they have two sons: August, 4, and Ernest, 2. Sounds like Balmoral is about to get pretty lively.
Balmoral Castle has long been a beloved summer escape for the royals. Buckingham Palace even shared a throwback post this week featuring vintage photos from past visits.
“For almost two centuries, members of the Royal Family have spent their summers on the Balmoral Estate in Scotland,” the caption began.
“This tradition began in 1852 when Queen Victoria and Prince Albert acquired Balmoral Castle,” the post read. “Since then, the castle and its grounds in the Scottish Highlands have provided the setting for many private and official family moments and have cemented the family’s affection for Scotland and its people.”
Looks like King Charles is keeping that legacy alive—family reunion and all.
