For those looking for a cosy autumn/winter getaway or to prepare for a break next year, we’ve spotted a “tranquil” shepherds hut with plenty of availability for the next few months for two guests. Available to book through Sykes Cottages, the staycation is at the furthest point of Nantcol Valley on the outskirts of Llanbedr in Gwynedd.
Close by to Snowdonia National Park with easy access to Coed Y Brenin Forest Park and the beautiful Morfa Dyffryn, Llethr – Shepherds Hut is an idyllic setting for escaping reality, switching off from the outside world and exploring the delights of North Wales with your loved one.
It has an open-plan living space and a wood-fired hot tub for a cosy evening under the stars. As it gets chilly, get warm by the woodburning stove with a warm cup of hot chocolate.

Close by are the trails Rhinog Fach, Rhinog Fawr, Moelfre and Y Llethr, which all offer hiking opportunities for those that enjoy the outdoors. For a more leisurely stroll, wander along the banks of Cwm Bychan lake idyllically positioned in the next valley.
A short drive away is the village of Llandbedr, where you will find the welcoming Victoria Inn for a traditional pub lunch set along the Afon Artro, ideal for those evenings where you don’t feel like cooking.

In the Sykes Cottages reviews, Charlotte rated the hut five stars and said: “The weather really made our few days away so great! It was lovely watching the animals on the farm and the wildlife from the hot tub (which was much hotter the second night!). The welcome snacks were a great bonus and greatly enjoyed! Thank you.”
Debbie said: “Owners are so friendly and accommodating. The hut was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed. Scenery was amazing and so tranquil. Single track road to get in and out, not an issue as hardly any traffic just sheep and cows. Absolutely would recommend for a relaxing time.”
