A large police cordon is in place with forensic teams and detectives tasked to the scene.

It comes as a blaze broke out in a block of flats just five minutes away on the Stewartstown Road.

A spokesman for the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said the cause of the fire “has yet to be determined” with no injuries reported.

Speaking about the incidents Sinn Fein MLA Danny Baker told the Belfast Telegraph: “Everyone was very shocked, and there was a lot of kids about as well, a lot of families out. It was a lovely night – a lot of people were walking.

“There was a lot of fear as well. They were so close together, it is only walking distance.”
