Liverpool youngster Lewis Koumas is set to join Birmingham City on a season-long loan deal.
The two clubs are closing in on a deal for the 19-year-old with formalities still to be completed and Koumas set to undergo a medical and formalities still to be completed.
It will be a straight loan with no option to buy included.
The deal is not expected to be done in time for Koumas to be involved at the weekend as Birmingham take on Oxford United in the Championship.
The Wales international has attracted plenty of interest this summer with from a number of Championship clubs but opted to join the newly-promoted side.
The forward spent last season on loan in the Championship at Stoke City where he made 49 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and providing five assists.
Koumas has made one competitive senior appearance for Liverpool’s first team, scoring on his debut in a 3-0 FA Cup fourth round victory over Southampton in February 2024.
It is viewed as an ideal move for the youngster who will have the opportunity to gain valuable first-team experience with a team that has promotion aspirations.
It has been a busy summer for Birmingham, who have already made 11 signings. Among the new arrivals are Tommy Doyle on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, former Celtic forward Kyogo Furuhashi and former Leicester City winger Demarai Gray.
