Nestled in the heart of London’s most coveted neighborhood, 45 Park Lane is the perfect mix of contemporary luxury and timeless British elegance. This art deco-inspired hotel is part of the Dorchester Collection and has all the grandeur and sophistication guests have come to expect from the brand. From the moment I stepped into the sleek lobby, I knew I was in for a treat.
Beyond the attentive service and refined atmosphere, the thing that really sets 45 Park Lane apart from other properties in its class is its prime Mayfair location on one of London’s most famous streets, the eponymous Park Lane. Hyde Park is across from the hotel, and guests will also find themselves just minutes away from Buckingham Palace.

Mornings at 45 Park Lane start with a leisurely breakfast overlooking the leafy foliage of the park through floor-to-ceiling windows—it strikes a sharp contrast to the hustle and bustle that London is known for. Afterwards, the concierge might arrange a bespoke tour of Buckingham Palace or an insider’s shopping experience on nearby Bond Street. Evenings are filled with the sounds of a live jazz band in the hotel’s intimate Bar 45, which, in my opinion, is best enjoyed paired with an expertly crafted martini. Despite its fantastic locations in the heart of London, the atmosphere here is decidedly cozy and laidback—however, it still has all the glamour visitors have come to expect from an upscale hotel in the capital city.

There is much to like about 45 Park Lane (and there truly is a lot), but one of the most noteworthy things to me is the property’s design. The building was originally built in the 1960s and rocketed to fame as the site of London’s Playboy Club. When it opened under the Dorchester banner in 2011, it went through a revival led by New York-based designer Thierry Despont, who enhanced and preserved its original Art Deco design. Inside, you’ll find a rotating selection of curated artwork throughout the hotel created by British contemporary artists. The property’s sleek design, coupled with its expertly selected art, makes a trip here feel like staying in a museum—in the best way possible.
Here’s what it’s like to stay at 45 Park Lane.
The Rooms
In keeping with the name, there are a grand total of 45 rooms and suites at 45 Park Lane.
Each space has spectacular Hyde Park views, and you can take in the iconic park through dreamy floor-to-ceiling windows. Entry-level rooms have plush, king-sized beds, sleek furnishings, and advanced in-room technology like touchscreen controls for lighting, curtains, and climate control. The bathrooms are equally impressive, with marble finishes, deep soaking tubs, and luxurious rain showers.
For those seeking even more opulence, the suites kick things up a notch with expansive living spaces, separate dining areas, and curated modern art pieces. I stayed in the Park Lane Suite, and it felt like a truly lavish retreat with panoramic views, bespoke furnishings, and a private bar area.
Food and Drink
These days, London is certainly not short of great eateries. But if you want a stand-out place to eat without going out, you’re in luck. In addition to a delightful cocktail bar, there are two on-site restaurants here, and one is even Michelin-starred.
Cut by Wolfgang Puck is the hotel’s flagship restaurant and an ideal choice for people who love prime steaks and seafood. The ambiance here is posh, but relaxed, with art-filled walls providing a stylish backdrop to the meticulously prepared dishes. The menu is filled with options like succulent wagyu beef and perfectly grilled lamb, which is complemented by an extensive wine list with rare vintages from across the globe.
You’ll also find chef Shinji Kanesaka’s first European restaurant at 45 Park Lane. The offerings here are simple, but classic, with things like saba (mackerel) sushi, unagi (eel) handrolls, and king crab on the set menu. However, don’t be fooled by the unfussy selection—Sushi Kanesaka earned a Michelin star in 2025.

For example, you can get an insider tour of Buckingham Palace, thanks to the knowledgeable concierges, who can help arrange everything from private museum tours to luxe shopping experiences.
