Find a stronger coverage zone
One of the simplest methods to improve network reception is to move to an area with fewer obstacles. Thick walls, basements, and enclosed rooms often block signals. Going near a window, stepping outdoors, or shifting to a higher floor can result in better reception. In rural or low-coverage regions, external mobile signal boosters or Wi-Fi calling can also help maintain connectivity.
Reset network settings and update software
Smartphones often face network issues due to outdated configurations or glitches. Resetting network settings clears saved Wi-Fi networks, paired Bluetooth devices, and cellular preferences, giving the device a fresh connection setup. Additionally, keeping the phone’s software updated ensures compatibility with the latest carrier optimizations and bug fixes, which can enhance speed and stability.
Switch between network modes
Most modern phones allow users to choose between 4G, 5G, or even LTE-only modes. If 5G coverage in a region is inconsistent, switching to 4G can sometimes provide a more stable experience. Conversely, in areas with strong 5G availability, enabling it can lead to significantly faster speeds. Users can change these preferences under mobile network settings to test which mode offers the best performance in their location.
