Based on David Nicholls’ novel and the HBO/Playtone film, the production launches at the Bristol Old Vic on Wednesday, September 10.
Starter for Ten tells the story of Brian Jackson, who leaves Southend in 1985 to start university life in Bristol, aiming to compete on the TV quiz show University Challenge.
The musical, which reflects the lively student scene of the 80s, features an original soundtrack and was previously nominated for Best Musical Production at the UK Theatre Awards 2024.
The show returns to Bristol Old Vic after a record-breaking run in 2024.
With a running time of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, including an interval, performances will run until October 11, with tickets starting at £15.
The production is a collaboration between Antic Productions, Bristol Old Vic, Longshot Films, and Playtone.
