Manchester United could still find room to make a few more additions in the closing days of the summer transfer window. Ruben Amorim faces tough and key decisions in the final moments of the market before it slams shut at the beginning of September.

There are questions surrounding the goalkeeping position after Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana have been guilty of high-profile errors, reports suggest that talks are progressing for Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens while Gianluigi Donnarumma has also been mooted. After the arrival of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, there is room for United to offload players.

And there are those within the ‘bomb squad’ who have yet to leave the club, after expressing their desire to explore options.

Going into the final nine days of the window, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho remain in the building with speculation persisting.

Rasmus Hojlund could leave the club after the arrival of Sesko, Napoli are facing strong links over a possible loan move.

“I think again, I know that is not a good thing to have players in this situation,” Amorim said on Friday, “but it’s clear they want to play in a different club and that is clear.

“So we try to arrange everything for both parts to be happy, so I have to try to imagine to have the training with the guys that I think are going to be the future and the other guys are training and preparing for the next chapter.

“When the window is closed, it’s a different history, when the window is closed, we have to receive the players and in a new life, anything can happen.”

At Old Trafford, there has been talk around a possible move for Brighton & Hove Albion powerhouse Carlos Baleba.

The Seagulls were said to be demanding around £100million for the midfielder, but reports suggest that United’s interest was only exploratory to see what conditions Fabian Hurzeler’s side would be open to selling the talent.

VfB Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller has been linked with a move to Man United. Sky Sports have claimed that the club have explored a move to sign the 24-year-old as they explore the market for reinforcements in the middle of the pitch.

Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth said: “Manchester United are still exploring the market for a midfielder in this transfer window.

“Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller is a player the club like and have looked at. However, it has not gone further than initial interest – there has been no club-to-club contact.”

However, Florian Plettenberg described the links as wide of the mark and that there are no internal or external talk of bringing Stiller to Old Trafford.

The German reporter says Stiller will go into the season as a Stuttgart player with three years remaining on his contract.

He has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past, with murmurs of a switch to Liverpool, but after an impressive performance in the Champions League against Real Madrid, he earned plaudits – leading to rumours of a Galacticos move.

It’ll be a busy few days at Carrington and Old Trafford as United need to offload some of their fringe players and add reinforcements before the window shuts until January.
