Leeds United forward Largie Ramazani has not travelled with the squad for their clash against Arsenal on Saturday evening, according to Graham Smyth.
The Whites have had a busy summer transfer window and Daniel Farke has been able to add a number of forward players to the squad in Lukas Nmecha, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor joining alongside Wilfried Gnonto, Daniel James, Jack Harrison and Joel Piroe as options.
That has left limited space in match-day squads for the manager to select them all, and it has now emerged that Ramazani has been left at home for the upcoming clash with the Gunners.
Ramazani Not in Leeds Squad v Arsenal
Ramazani, who Smyth described as a ‘difference-maker’, moved to Elland Road from La Liga last summer in a deal worth around £10m and helped the team earn promotion back to the Premier League.
But it now looks as though his future could lie elsewhere this season, with Smyth revealing on his X account that there is no indication of whether the player is injured or not, but admitted he would be the most likely candidate for a late departure this summer if Farke wanted to trim down his squad.
“Hearing that Largie Ramazani hasn’t travelled with the squad. No idea if there’s an injury.
“Of the wingers he would be the likeliest to attract interest. Would be a shame if he went. Difference maker, on the ball at least. See what Farke says.”
Leeds started their season with a 1-0 home win over Everton thanks to a controversial late penalty from new signing Nmecha, who came off the bench, but have since signed Okafor from AC Milan, while Calvert-Lewin has another week of training in his legs.
With Harrison also an option with plenty of Premier League experience, it looks difficult for Ramazani to secure a place in the squad going forward, which could see him moved on in a deal that suits all parties.
