For a survey reveals that country dwellers have the highest libidos in Britain — with the Cotswolds home to the nation’s randiest people.
According to a nationwide survey by business consultant Perspectus Global, rural residents are having sex an average of 11 times a month, while City folk only manage to get it on eight times.
And The Cotswolds — which inspired Ms Cooper’s ‘Ruthshire Chronicles’ — has been crowned the bonk capital of Britain, with locals mating a staggering 15 times a month on average.
However, the rolling hills of England’s green and pleasant land also hides a risqué secret.

While partners in cities such as London have an average of just one sex toy hidden in their drawers, country couples have an average of three saucy gadgets, with vibrators the clear favourite.
Furthermore, two fifths (41 per cent) of people in the countryside partake in role play, compared to a third (32 per cent) of urbanites.
Jon Horsely, Head of Insights at Perspectus Global, said: ‘It seems the British countryside is not all about WI meetings, cake bakes and long walks in nature, as our research clearly shows Brits living the rural life, are having more fun between the sheets and finding more exotic ways to spice up their sex lives.’
