The Tour of Britain is set to take place in Suffolk once again and will be passing through many towns and villages in the county.

Although it will be a lot of hard work for the athletes taking part on September 2 and 3, it will be the perfect excuse for residents to relax and take in the spectacle.

Here are just some of the places to enjoy the two Suffolk stages of the Lloyd’s Tour of Britain.

The first stage will start in the town of Woodbridge, which has a range of places to eat, drink and shop, with the event sure to create an amazing atmosphere.

With the route starting on Quay Street, the Thoroughfare will be the perfect place to enjoy the event.

Along the road there are cafes, independent shops and pubs, with something for everyone to enjoy.

The Rendham White Horse

Where: Bruisyard Road, Rendham, Saxmundham IP17 2Af

This village pub is roughly halfway through the first day of the event’s visit to Suffolk.

After leaving Woodbridge at 11am the cyclists will go right past the front of the pub, like they have done in previous years.

The White Horse has said that they will be open for drinks, according to the official website they will pass through Saxmundham at 1.05pm and Framlingham at 1.21pm, with the pub in between the two.

To round off the first day of the tour’s visit to Suffolk, they will finish along the seafront in Southwold and pass the front of the pier.

While it will not be all fun and games for the athletes, the pier will be the perfect place to spectate, thanks to the range of eateries, shops and the two arcades that it houses.

The pier was recently named among one of the best in the country by the Telegraph.

Meze grill Turkish Restaurant, Stowmarket

Where: 76-78 Ipswich Street, Stowmarket Ip14 1AZ

At the start and finish line of the second stage in Suffolk is the Meze Grill Turkish Restaurant in Stowmarket.

They opened in April last year and have already been named as one of the best at the British Kebab Awards in 2024.

There is a large outdoor seating area at the back of the restaurant, which will be the perfect place to wait while the cyclists complete the 173km route.

The Cock Horse in Lavenham is also on the route of the second stage, and has a large beer garden out the front, which will overlook the course.

It only reopened last week, after it was taken over by the Bella Pubs group, which is owned by Rebecca and Keven Swales.

Mrs Swales said that it had been the busiest opening they have had, compared to their three other pubs.

Where will you be watching along the route?
