On Friday August 22 the M25 0EY postcode, which includes homes along Bury Old Road in Prestwich, was unveiled as one of the winners of the £1000 prize.

This is part of the lottery’s daily prize, with other postcodes scattered throughout the country also chosen.

Subscriptions to the postcode lottery support a range of charities across the UK, with a minimum of 33 per cent of the ticket prices going to charity.

The People’s Postcode Lottery manages lotteries for 20 charities, with each one having a draw a month.

The lottery is hugely popular nationally and supports “a wide range of charities and good causes across Britain and around the world”.

To date, it has provided more than £1.1 billion in funding which it says is helping thousands of organisations and projects.
