Taste of Himalayan, a Nepalese restaurant in Rowley Regis High Street, has been named Nepalese Restaurant of the Year at the prestigious English Curry Awards.

Held on 11 August, the national award ceremony’s success has cemented Taste of Himalayan as not only a leading destination for Nepalese cuisine in the West Midlands, but in the whole of the country.

Taste of Himalayan has built a loyal following since opening in 2022, serving up its signature dumplings and authentic Nepalese and Indian street food, attracting customers from across the West Midlands and beyond.

Chef and Owner, Tej Bhandari, expressed his delight at receiving the national accolade, describing it as a “reflection of years of dedication to his craft”.

He said: “This award means everything to us.

“I began my journey 30 years ago in India, working at many renowned restaurants and, in 2022, I launched Taste of Himalayan.

“It has been amazing to see so much support from our community.”

Mr Bhandari also paid tribute to his customers and staff, acknowledging the role they played in the restaurant’s success.

“A huge thank you to our wonderful customers and dedicated staff – we couldn’t have done it without you,” he added.

“You’ve made this dream a reality, and we are forever grateful.

“Here’s to many more years of creating great food and winning awards.”
