Janet passed away peacefully at St David’s Hospice on Saturday, 9th August 2025, aged 75 years. Originally of Wrexham, Janet moved to Llandudno over 23 years ago and resided on Clement Avenue. Janet had a career as a nurse for many years, and also loved her dogs, her advocacy work for Age Concern North Wales and her time in Rock Choir. Janet was the devoted wife of John, loving mum to Samantha, Jennifer, John and Victoria, a much loved sister of Carol, Dorothy and Tim and a cherished Nana to Megan. Janet will be sadly missed by her family, friends, neighbours, Rock Choir members and those that knew her. Retired Opera Singer and Hotelier Peacefully on July 29th 2025, Alan, the beloved husband of Diane passed away at home surrounded by his family. John Deere, sadly passed away on the 4th of August at Royal United Hospital Bath, following complications after a fall. Born in Llantwit Major on the 9th of August 1935, son of the late Ronald and Florence Elsie Deere of Saint Athan, John was a passionate advocate for the Arts, a devoted family man and a lifelong champion of socialist causes and human rights, whose intellectual curiosity and gentle nature touched many. John is survived by his two sisters, Mary and Jean, three children, Gareth, Daniel and Catherine, and his 11 grandchildren, Hannah, Gabriel, Ethan, Max, Angelina, Troy, Jezenya, Zac, Mia, Emma and Jacob. All are invited to pay their last respects to John. There will be a celebration of life service on the 29th August at 1.30pm at Cardiff Natural Burial Meadow, Coedarhydyglyn, Cardiff CF5 6SG. (Tony ) It is with deep sadness that the family of Mr. Anthony Charles Lewis, known to all as Tony, announce his peaceful passing at the University Hospital of Wales on 30th July 2025, aged 85 years. Formerly of Llandaff, Tony was a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Though based in Llandaff, he was also well known and warmly regarded throughout the wider community. Tony was first married to Joan, with whom he shared many cherished years until she sadly passed away in 1985. Together they raised three children – Angela, Karen, and Richard – whom he adored. He later married Anne, who also brought companionship and joy into his life. He was predeceased by both. A devoted father to Angela, Karen, and Richard, and a respected father-in-law to Gary, David, and Alison, Tony’s life was rooted in family, and he took great pride in the love and bonds they shared. He was a proud grandfather to Sheldon, Ryan, Jordan, and Matthew, and took great joy in watching their lives unfold. He also warmly welcomed their partners, Lottie and Megan, as part of the family. His guidance, support, and great humour will be deeply missed by them all. Tony is also lovingly remembered by his sister Mary and brother-in-law Graham, along with extended family and many dear friends. In addition to his devotion to family and community, Tony was a long-serving life member of the United Services Mess. He gave generously of his time and energy to the institution, contributing greatly to its spirit and camaraderie over the years – a commitment that reflected his deep sense of service and loyalty. For the last five months of his life, Tony was a resident of Heol Don Care Home, where he was treated with exceptional kindness, compassion, and dignity. The family are deeply grateful for the outstanding care, attention, and warmth shown to him by the dedicated staff during this time. Tony will be remembered for his warmth, strength of character, and unwavering love for those around him. He was a man who valued friendship, enjoyed a good story, and could always be relied upon for a smile or a laugh. Mary dedicated herself to her family, to her drawings and paintings, particularly of Cardiff’s rich Victorian architecture. As an active conservationist, she campaigned for the preservation of architecturally important buildings in Cardiff, including several in the Cardiff Bay area, and was secretary of the South Wales branch of The Victorian Society for many years. A memorial service for all family and friends will be held on Wednesday 27 August at 3pm, at St Edwards Church, Westville Road, Cardiff. In Loving Memory of David Wareing, long-time resident of Ruthin, formerly of Southport, who passed away on 22 July 2025, aged 91 years. David served for many years in the Merchant Navy and later settled in North Wales. A familiar face to many in the area as a driving instructor, David helped generations of locals take their first journeys on the road. Following the passing of his first wife, Barbara, David was fortunate to find love again with Alison, with whom he shared more than 15 happy years. A devoted husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa, David embraced life to the full, remaining active and independent to the end. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen David Williams, on 30.07.25 at the University Hospital of Wales. Anyone who knew Stephen knew what an amazing man he was. He was an incredible dad and an amazing Grandad. He has left a hole in our lives that no one will ever be able to fill and the world seems so much sadder without him in it. As most will know, Stephen had been living with Alzheimer’s for many years, and although the illness has stolen so much from him and his family over the years, the one thing it never took was his cheeky sense of humour.
