Scots singing legend Susan Boyle shared a fun picture with fans on her social media, which included some famous faces, after enjoying Sam Fender’s Edinburgh gig.
The Geordie rocked out with 20,000 fans at the Royal Highland Showground, near Edinburgh Airport, on Friday August 22 as part of the Summer Sessions 2025 concerts – and it seems that some Scottish stars also came to enjoy the show.
Britain’s Got Talent icon Susan Boyle took to Instagram today to share that she had a ‘brilliant night’ at the gig, along with a snap of her sandwiched between Sam Fender and neighbour Lewis Capaldi.
The caption said: “Brilliant night watching the incredible @sam_fender. Such a great show. Especially lovely to catch up with my neighbour @lewiscapaldi after too.”
Fans were delighted to see the trio together, with one fan writing: “Couple of local legends right there,” while another added: “What a fabulous night that must have been.”

A third commenter also gushed: “Omg three icons in one room.” A fourth person also wrote: “Awww hun this is so cute hope you had a fab night.”
Susan has previously spoken about fellow Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi and how she wished to one day perform a duet with him.
In 2024 she said: “Lewis Capaldi is an absolute sweetheart. He has an incredible voice, an incredible personality and is so down to earth, which I love.
“Our paths have never crossed and we actually went to the same high school – St Kentigern’s Academy. I would be honoured to duet with him and even do a wee comedy sketch. I feel we would have quite a carry-on!”

Sam Fender is currently on his People Watching tour and thousands of fans flocked to Edinburgh for his only Scottish date.
Along with playing popular tunes such as Will We Talk?, Getting Started and Seventeen Going Under, Sam delighted the crowd with mentions of his love for Scotland as well as his Scottish connections, with his mum living locally.
Other fans in the crowd also spotted Lewis making an appearance at his pal’s gig, with one person sharing a clip on social media saying: “Spotted this little cherub at Sam Fender last night.”
The pair have been good friends for some time now, with the ‘close drinking buddies’ being seen over the years to be enjoying wine and banter whilst together backstage.

The pair were also snapped on a wee getaway to Ireland back in July with some other famous faces. Hoping on a boat to take in the views of Killary Fjord, the singers were seen to be joined by Sam’s girlfriend Rosa Collier and Dubliners Fontaine D.C.
Lewis Capaldi is set to make his comeback tour in the coming weeks after taking time away to work on his mental health. The 28-year-old dropped his latest song Survive in June before surprising revellers at Glastonbury with a surprise set.
The singer has four sold out dates in Scotland – September 10 and 11 at the P&J Live Aberdeen, followed by September 13 and 14 at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow.
