Motorcyclist dies in crash with bus on A87 in Scottish Highlands

A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a bus in the Highlands, police have said.

A man riding a green Suzuki Bandit was involved in a collision on the A87 Invermoriston to Uig road near Cluanie on Saturday morning.

There were no reports of any injuries on board the single-decker bus following the crash, which happened around 10.40am.

The rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.
Police are now appealing for information and have asked anyone with relevant dash cam footage to get in touch.

Sergeant Calum MacAulay said: “Our inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash and who hasn’t already spoken to officers to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area and who may have seen the vehicles prior or have dash-cam footage which could assist to get in touch.”

Those with information have been asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1266 of August 23.
