A police officer was hurt after being involved in a crash in Wythenshawe.
The officer was driving a marked police car while responding to a report of criminal damage when the collision occurred, Greater Manchester Police said.
A white car crashed into the driver’s side of the police vehicle as the marked car crossed oncoming traffic, from the M56 onto Simonsway, with its blue lights and sirens activated.
The officer attended hospital after suffering minor injuries.

It is understood no driving offences have been identified, and no arrests have been made.
The driver of the white car was not injured.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 5:38pm yesterday (24/08/2025), an officer responding to a report of criminal damage ongoing in the Wythenshawe area of Manchester was involved in a road traffic collision.
“The officer was driving a marked police car with blue lights and sirens activated.

“While turning right from the M56 onto Simonsway, crossing oncoming traffic, a member of the public’s vehicle collided with the driver’s side of the police vehicle.
“The officer attended hospital with minor injuries.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
