Leeds United are spinning numerous plates in the transfer market currently, with attacking midfielders and wingers still eyed by Daniel Farke.

Of the nine signings thus far, Leeds United have brought in three forward players. Noah Okafor has recently arrived alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha to bolster their ranks.

Leeds now have numerous centre-forwards and wide forwards, but perhaps lack a naturally creative player to knit it all together in the final third, which perhaps explains Daniel Farke’s demands last week.

Farke wants a hybrid playmaker who can play as a No.10 or winger. That sort of profile would benefit Leeds in attack by giving them someone who can conjure something up out of nothing.

Previously this summer, we have suggested Facundo Buonanotte of Brighton as an option for Leeds. They could revive a move, and recent weeks suggest that he is one of the players considered.

Emi Buendia and Buonanotte fit the bill for Leeds and it’s not the first time the 20-year-old has been linked, with Leeds having Buonanotte interest over a year ago before he joined Leicester City on loan.

Now, in recent weeks, Buonanotte has emerged as a more serious target again. It’s been clear all summer that Buonanotte is not in Brighton’s plans after his return from Leicester.

It’s also been reported that Borussia Dortmund have been knocked back for Buonanotte by Brighton, who prefer a loan to England. That stance has since been doubled down on in the most recent reports.

MORE LEEDS UNITED STORIES

French journalist Hugo Guillemet, speaking via L’Equipe, has the latest on Buonanotte. There are other suitors in the race for his services, including a French giant and the club Leeds bought Lucas Perri from this summer.

He states: “Buonanotte has been convinced by the Lyon project and wants to join OL on loan. The only obstacle: Brighton is willing to loan out their left-footed player, who can play as an inside right winger, but only in the Premier League.

Leeds United News revealed that Leeds’ interest in Buonanotte is ramping up ahead of the transfer deadline. However, he is not the only player of that profile that they are considering, and the competition for Buonanotte is now mounting.

Buonanotte’s first start for Brighton came during an FA Cup victory away at Championship side Stoke City. The playmaker’s performance drew praise from their club captain, with Lewis Dunk labelling Buonanotte as ‘excellent’.

Carlos Tevez is reminded of Lionel Messi with Buonanotte. He said: “When he brakes and accelerates he reminds me of Messi.

“I haven’t seen a boy play like that for a long time, that gives me so much pleasure, and that I watch a lot of football.

“Facu has a great mentality, he doesn’t seem to be 17 years old. He is at a very high level, one thinks that he has no ceiling, it is where he wants to go . Today he is physically impeccable.”
