A man has been dragged to the ground and robbed in south Belfast.

The victim was walking along Fitzroy Avenue on Sunday afternoon when he was attacked by another man.

The assailant dragged him to the ground before stealing a mobile phone and a quantity of cash.

The suspect, described as being approximately 6’2 in height, of average build and with a shaved head, made off in the direction of Cromwell Road.

Police believe he was wearing dark grey stonewashed type jeans and a black jacket.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed the attack or anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist with the investigation, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1219 24/08/25.
