Many of us can’t get enough of the treats on offer at M&S – from its viral cookies, to Christmas offerings and posh ready meals. However, with expensive bills and the cost of living burning a hole in our pockets, it is unrealistic for many of us to shop there often or at all.
Thankfully though, there’s a way to enjoy delicious M&S sweet treats without forking out a fortune. Park Cakes in Oldham is where Marks and Spencer cakes that don’t quite make the exacting quality standards in the factory head to.
The shop, in Ashton Road, is so secret that there are now signs banning you from taking photos or videos inside. So is it actually worth the trip?
You’ll be pleased to know that a couple has shared their experience after visiting a Marks and Spencer outlet. They were gobsmacked by how many items they got for such a reasonable price.

Manchester-based content creators Nathan and Grace visited the spot and shared their experience online. They arrived just after the 10am opening time and snapped up plenty of exciting items for just £7.
They picked up a Victoria sponge base for £2, mini bite brownies for £1.50, mini rolls for £1, a Dough the Dog cake for £1, as well as a Colin the Caterpillar cake for £1.
Nathan gushed: “I can’t believe how cheap this way.”
Meanwhile, Grace added: “I think shops like that are such a good way to prevent food waste – because otherwise all of the food that isn’t perfect will just go in the bin. But this way it’s still getting sold and getting eaten.”
They’re not the only ones to be impressed – as the shop has also been inundated with five star reviews on Google.
One individual shared their experience and said: “Brilliant shop, got a right haul of goodies for £10! Only a small shop but there’s plenty in it. No children at all are allowed in the shop including babies (some people thought they would be exempt from the rules for some reason).”
Another reviewed their experience and said: “Wasn’t sure what to expect but it definitely worth a drive out. Don’t expect anything big or fancy but lots of bargains! No kids or photo/videos allowed in store. Staff super pleasant.”
Another added: “Great place to get really good priced cakes and mini cakes. Ideal for buffets, parties or just treats.”
However, they noted: “Parking very limited on site and either double yellow lines or parking permits in side streets as a whole and only access I know of is via steps, but other than that, would highly recommend.”
Another commented: “I was told about this shop from a work colleague. Went today and I was not disappointed. Loads of choice and at prices that are amazing! Staff were really friendly and helpful. Will be coming back for more.”
There are also a number of M&S Outlet shops nearby that allow you to bag discounted items. These include the Designer Outlet Cheshire Oaks in Ellesmere Port and Quayside in Salford (formerly known as Lowry Outlet).
