Trains have been stopped on the line between Huyton and Earlestown this morning (August 26).

“Trains running through these stations will be cancelled or delayed by up to 35 minutes as a result. Disruption is expected until 9am.”
Northern customers can use their tickets on services towards Wigan and Preston before changing for Liverpool and Manchester trains.
National Rail says TransPennine Express services will start and terminate at Manchester Victoria ‘where possible’, with those trains not running to Merseyside.
TransPennine Express services between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Piccadilly are not affected by the emergency incident.
