Local residents in The Dings, Brislington and St Anne’s in Bristol can now check out the new WESTlocal 61 bus timetable ahead of changes from 31 August.

The WESTlocal 61 service from St Anne’s to Broadmead will soon include stops at Castle Court Sainsbury’s by St Philip’s Causeway/Arnos Vale and offer improved access through St Anne’s including First Avenue, Guildford Road, Wootton Road, St Anne’s Road and Whitby Road. The buses will also serve Tramway Road in Brislington near Dunelm and Go Outdoors.

From next week, the service will run earlier and later with an hourly service running from 7am throughout the day on Mondays to Saturdays. This will offer a vital link for people who work in Bristol city centre.

Nola Hersey, a local resident who campaigned for the service, said:

“The Dings is delighted with the route changes for the 61 service. The earlier start time will mean people have more options to use it to get to school and work and the ability to access a supermarket will make a huge difference to many people who currently have long journeys to do their shop.”

A spokesperson from bus operator Eurocoaches said:

“The revised route has been designed to provide a more efficient, reliable and convenient service, extending coverage to additional communities and key destinations. These enhancements have been made possible through the support and funding provided by the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority.”

This forms part of wider changes to WESTlocal buses, designed and run by communities, which are funded through the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority’s Bus Grant from UK government until March 2026.

Due to passenger demand, the 61 will no longer operate on Sundays or bank holidays or serve Canon’s Marsh.
