A Love Island star has been put behind bars after he battered a man over a parking space. Troy Frith, who starred on the second series of the ITV2 dating show, targeted the victim outside a Sainabury’s in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

The man was punched so hard he was left with series head injuries. Frith, 32, has been jailed for one year and two weeks after pleading guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He had become impatient while waiting for a family to remove a car seat, Woolwich Crown Court heard. Even though other car parking spaces were available, Frith attacked the man in front of horrified shoppers.

He left the scene on April 27 but was later found by police and arrested. Investigating officer, PC Faye Gubby, said: “Frith became impatient while waiting for a family to remove a child seat from the rear of a car, despite there being other car parking spaces available.

“While he indicated remorse by asking about the victim’s welfare, he still caused serious harm to a man over a relatively trivial matter.

“The judge passed the sentence taking the unprovoked nature of the assault into consideration.” Frith had appeared on the second series of the dating show when he entered on day 30 as a bombshell.

While on the show in 2016, Firth had a date with Tina Stinnes, who went on to join Made in Chelsea. Frith was dumped from the island after seven days.

His love interest Olivia Buckland chose to couple up with Adam Jukes instead. Frith had previously dated Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson, who slammed him after he entered the villa.

She said at the time: “Name dropping a ex or anything like it purely to get on a tv show is probably the most annoying thing in the world #cringe”.

Frith starred on the same series as Olivia and Alex Bowen, who finished runner-ups. They got engaged in late 2016 and later tied the knot in Essex on 15 September 2018.

In June 2022, they welcomed their first child, son Abel (AJ), and this month announced the birth of their daughter Siena. The pair remain happily married and continue sharing family life with their followers.

The winners of the 2016 series are also still together as Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey tied the knot three years later.

The couple have two children together: son Freddie, born in 2017, and daughter Delilah, born in 2020.
