Brits are embracing the outdoors more than ever, with walking routes and nature adventures on the rise.
New research reveals pub gardens, beaches, and mountains among the nation’s favourite pint spots. Thatchers marked the trend with its summer ‘Wild Pint’ celebrations – giving away pints at pubs on iconic adventure routes.

Recent research conducted by OS Maps, on behalf of Thatchers, echoes this love for al fresco sipping. According to the drinking brand’s research, 41 per cent of drinkers say the pub garden is their favourite spot for a pint, 20 per cent choose the beach, and others name everything from a campsite to a mountain peak as their ideal drinking destination.

To celebrate this outdoor spirit, Thatchers is bringing the ‘Wild Pint’ to life – those spontaneous, scenic moments when great cider meets great views. From September 1, anyone finishing an adventure at selected pubs across the UK can enjoy a complimentary pint of Thatchers Juicy Apple – all they need to do is ask for a ‘Wild Pint’.
Participating pubs across the south west are getting involved with six offering up a free drink. This includes, The Turfcutters Arms in New Forest, The Old Gate Inn (in Peak District), Ring O’ Bells (Kendal), WAX (Watergate Bay), and the Land’s End Hotel & Bar (Cornwall).
A North Somerset pub is offering a free pint if you say this phrase too, with The Railway Inn, near Weston, letting customers get a free Thatchers Juicy Apple pint at the bar. All you have to do is ask for a “wild pint”.
Eleanor Thatcher, a fifth-generation cidermaker at Thatchers, said: “Our Wild Pints are all about celebrating nature, great cider and a sense of adventure.
“As a family owned cidermaker rooted in the Somerset countryside, the outdoors is part of who we are, from the orchards we’ve grown for over a century to the landscapes that inspire us every day.
“At this time of year, as the harvest begins, what better way is there to celebrate than enjoying a pint of cider, soaking up the last of the summer sun, out in the wild, where our apples are grown?”
Thatcher’s Juicy Apple pints are available for a limited amount of time, while stocks last, at select locations across the Southwest. This promotion is available to over-18s only. Please drink responsibly.
