“This is so so sad to hear… a huge loss to the Northern Quarter”Feel Good Club in Manchester’s Northern Quarter will be closing
The owners behind a beloved coffee house in Manchester city centre have said ‘we’re gutted’ as they announced the venue’s shock closure.
Feel Good Club, on Hilton Street in Manchester’s Northern Quarter issued a statement on Tuesday (August 26) announcing the food and drink venue, which also hosts events and was described as ‘an important place for the queer community’ will be closing in September.
The ‘heartbroken’ owners behind the business said they had spent the last 12 months seeing their ‘favourite venues in the city closing around us’ and that they had been ‘trying to do everything’ to not face the same fate.

Citing the ‘hospitality crisis’, the venue said it would be closing on September 23 weeks before their fifth anniversary. The post was met with an outpouring of support from customers who described it as ‘a huge loss’.
“We’re absolutely gutted to have to deliver this message but, just weeks before our 5th birthday, our venue in Northern Quarter will be closing on the 23.09.25,” the post read.
“We’ve spent the past 12+ months, seeing some of our favourite venues in the city closing around us and whilst we’ve been trying to do everything in our power, not to, it’s felt like a an inevitability that we’ve been unable to escape.
“We’ll sadly be joining the list of some incredible places that have been lost to the current hospitality crisis, holding on any longer would mean risking letting down our team and suppliers, and they come first here.

“We’ve poured every part of ourselves, our lives and energy into the physical venue of Feel Good Club. We’ve loved, we’ve lost and we’ve had some of the best moments of our lives in that space, joined by friends, family and the chosen family we have met along the way.
“From the cabarets to dancing on tables, the weddings, the markets, the protests, the music, the memorials and the real, raw and important conversations. We’d like to thank everyone who has brought their visions to life in the club.”
The statement went on to ‘thank every single person who’s walked through our doors and supported us’ alongside the teams of staff who ‘made the venue what it is’.
“We’ve met so many incredible people in the space and outside of it who have approached us to tell us what it means to them and honestly, knowing that our space will no longer remain almost hits harder for these reasons than the feeling of our own dream ending,” the post continued.

Issuing a desperate plea, the statement added: “Please visit your favourite cafes and bars as much as you can. Hospitality is at breaking point right now with zero support and it needs everyone’s help.
“A million thank you’s for the wildest 5 years of our lives – it’s not goodbye, it’s see you later. From Kiera, Aimie and Juno. x”
