Translink has announced that bus timetable changes will take effect from Monday, 1st September, to coincide with the return of schools.
With over 60,000 pupils relying on Translink services daily, the company has said this marks one of the busiest times of the year for public transport. To ensure services run smoothly, passengers are being urged to plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys.
A Translink spokesperson said:
“With over 60,000 pupils using Translink services daily, this is one of the busiest times of the year for public transport. To support a safe and efficient return to school, Translink is encouraging everyone to plan ahead.”
The operator confirmed that timetable adjustments will affect Ulsterbus, Metro/Glider and Goldliner services.
Passengers are being encouraged to check routes in advance via the Journey Planner app or by visiting the official Translink website at www.translink.co.uk.
Translink also reminded customers that journey times may be longer than usual during peak school travel hours and asked passengers to allow for potential delays.
