Ali and Tim Dark showcased their prowess by claiming the best in show award for the top vase.

The annual event took place at St Peter’s School on Saturday, August 23 and marked the show’s 130-year celebration.

Boosted by the entries of Pilning Rainbows and Severn Beach Cubs, there were a record 88 competitors in the show.

While the overall number of entries were just above 400 – mirroring the previous year’s statistics – this figure saw fewer vegetables and fruit entries, blamed on the weather.

Other notable victors included Bob Roper for vegetables, Victoria Bywater for fruit, Catherine Fish for baking and Pat Edwardes for flower arranging.

More than 250 people attended the event, which offered a selection of outdoor refreshments, a raffle and an auction of produce and donated items.

All proceeds from this year’s show will be handed over to Sight Support West of England.
