Countless individuals harbour weight loss aspirations, yet the journey can frequently seem overwhelming and daunting, leaving many feeling discouraged and lacking drive. This proved true for Becky, who has battled with her weight and general wellbeing intermittently since her adolescent years.
Becky reveals she “gained a lot of weight” during her youth, and again in 2020 and 2021. When she embarked on her weight loss journey, she found maintaining consistency and motivation particularly challenging, but she managed to shed 20 pounds in eight weeks using the WalkFit app.
“This is just the beginning for me and I feel so proud of what I’ve accomplished so far. I spent each week really focusing on me, my health and my goals. Eating fuelling and filling meals was a priority as were my daily walks,” Becky told The Mirror.
WalkFit, which is currently providing new subscribers with up to 61% off their initial subscription period, is a walking and weight loss application designed for ordinary people leading hectic lifestyles. The platform provides users with tailored walking and weight loss programmes based on age, weight and fitness level, features indoor-suitable alternatives if outdoor exercise isn’t feasible for everyone, and also includes integrated step and calorie monitoring.
Becky, who has been achieving her step target at least five days weekly without fail, says she felt proud of her dedication to completing her 11,000 daily steps. The WalkFit application features daily targets and engaging challenges to keep participants motivated, alongside encouragement tools including streaks, badges and progress monitoring.

WalkFit is a walking and weight loss app designed for real people with busy lives. It provides personalized plans based on age, weight, and fitness level, includes indoor-friendly options, and features built-in step and calorie tracking.
“Some days were just absolutely freezing outside or maybe it was raining or even snowing,” she explains, adding: “I didn’t let that stop me. If the weather wasn’t cooperating, I got on my walking pad and I got the steps in.”
To begin using the application, participants complete a personalised questionnaire that enables WalkFit to create a bespoke programme based on their fitness objectives, lifestyle patterns and prior experience with exercise or weight reduction. The app is accessible on iOS and Android platforms and supports six languages including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
With the application proving especially popular amongst women over 35, WalkFit was developed to demonstrate that walking alone is sufficient. “I was so terrified at the beginning,” Becky confesses whilst sharing her guidance for others in similar circumstances.

“I was hopeful and had some belief in myself, but I was so scared. When I look at weight loss stories I used to think ‘that will never be me’, or ‘I’m just not meant to have a story like this’, but everyday that I show up for myself, I’m proving that belief wrong. You can do that too.”
She added: “You can do it and you have to just start small. Pace around the house for five minutes every hour. Get outside for 30 minutes per day to get some steps in. Over time, the small things add up.”
Should this particular app not suit everyone’s needs, there are alternative options available including MyFitnessPal, which serves as a comprehensive food, exercise and calorie monitoring tool offering both complimentary and premium subscription tiers. Another choice is the Nike Training Club App, providing access to more than 200 complimentary workouts and specialised training programmes.
App users such as Becky have shared their experiences on Trustpilot with their reviews. One individual commented: “I am really enjoying using this app. I have lost 6lb in three weeks just by following the exercises.
“I like the fact I can exercise at my own speed, and there are so many daily choices, I can pick what I want and what I have time for on each particular day,” remarked another user.
However, some users held differing views, with one stating: “Not for me, I tried this app for 3 weeks, but found it uninspiring and I can’t see how you can really get fit and lose weight in 10 minutes a day. I contacted the company and raised my concerns and they agreed to give me a full refund.”
A separate reviewer noted: “I’m only able to push myself daily because of this app. I like that everyday is different. So far I have no suggestions for improvement.”
The 61% discount remains available on the WalkFit app.
