Another horse has died after suffering a racing injury at Los Alamitos Race Course, state officials confirmed.
The 2-year-old gelding Hidden Speed died Sunday, after running in that day’s eight race. The official race chart did not mention anything out of the ordinary, and the California Horse Racing Board’s website merely lists the death as “musculoskeletal.”
Attempts to reach Los Alamitos and the CHRB on Wednesday were not immediately successful.
Hidden Speed is the 11th horse to die from a racing or training injury at the Cypress track this year. He had six races in his career, all at Los Alamitos, according to the industry website Equibase.
